The Virtue of offering Salah in Masjid-e-Nabawi

Question

What do the respected scholars say regarding this matter that is the virtue of offering Salah in Masjid-e-Nabawi specific only to the part (of the Masjid) which was present in the time of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, or is the part (of the Masjid) which was included after the physical departure of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also included in it?Questioner:Mujahid Razavi (Faisalabad)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

اَلْجَوَابُ بِعَوْنِ الْمَلِکِ الْوَھَّابِ اَللّٰھُمَّ ھِدَایَۃَ الْحَقِّ وَالصَّوَابِ

The virtue of offering Salah in Masjid-e-Nabawi is not specific to only that part (of the Masjid) which was only present in the time of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, but rather, the part (of the Masjid) which was included after the physical departure of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also contains this virtue. As ‘Allamah Jalal-ud-Din As-Suyuti Ash-Shaafi’i (passed away in 911 AH) states in the commentary of Sunan–e-Ibn-e-Majah: وَالْمُخْتَارُ عِنْدَ الْجَمْہُورِ اَنَّ الْحُکْمَ بِالْمُضَاعَفَةِ یَشْمَل لِمَا زِیْدَ عَلَیْہ Translation: The chosen opinion of majority of the scholars is that the excessive reward (in Masjid-e-Nabawi) is in connection with that part too which was included after further construction.(Sharh Sunan Ibn-e-Majah Lis-Suyuti, pp. 101, Bab-ul-Madinah, Karachi)

وَاللہُ اَعْلَمُ  عَزَّوَجَلَّ  وَرَسُوْلُہ اَعْلَم صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم
