The Prostration Of Recitation Is Not Wajib Upon A Non-Baligh (Prepubescent) Child

Question

What do the scholars of Islam say regarding the following matter: A non-Baligh child recited Ayat e Sajda [ a verse of prostration]; will the prostration of recitation become Wajib upon him or not? Also, if a non-Baligh child recited a verse of prostration and an adult heard it, will the prostration of recitation become Wajib upon the adult? Please explain.

Children who have not yet reached the age of puberty are not legally responsible in Shari’ah, therefore, if they were to recite a verse of prostration, the prostration of recitation will not become Wajib upon them. However, if a non-Baligh child recited a verse of prostration and a sane and mature (who is of the age of puberty) Muslim heard the recitation, the prostration of recitation will become Wajib upon the one listening.
